Conference: Safeguarding against Sexual Violence in Churches

Warsaw, 19–21 June 2026

The issue of sexualized violence is currently confronting many churches in Europe — in processes of investigation and acknowledgement, as well as in prevention and intervention in cases of suspected abuse. At its 9th General Assembly in 2024 in Sibiu, the CPCE called upon its member churches to raise awareness of sexualized violence and to take concrete measures to address it.

European Gathering of Synod Members 

Tallinn, 1–4 October 2026

In Protestant churches, synods are the highest decision-making bodies and therefore of great significance. The 5th European Meeting of Synod Representatives is dedicated to the theme: “Passing on the Faith to Future Generations” and offers an excellent platform for networking and information exchange.

Worship Consultation on Occasional Offices

Frankfurt/Main, 2-5 November 2026

One of the CPCE’s longstanding core events is the Consultation on Worship. In 2026, it will focus on occasional services (Kasualien), with particular emphasis on weddings and funerals, as well as other alternative occasional services.

The event is hosted by the “Zentrum Verkündigung der EKHN.” Registration for participation is handled through the respective member churches.

European Meeting of Church Leaders 

Wittenberg,  2–3 July 2027

The meeting of the church leaders will once again take place - this time in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. In celebrating and enjoying fellowship together they will draw strenth for their ministry. In terms of content  an exchange of views on the question of ordinations and minsitres will take place.
